Identifying this noise....
http://youtu.be/AIWtzNhVcO0
This started during winter, when temperature would drop below -10-15 celcius, this would be loud like in the video. Right now with the temperature around 5-6 it's a the same noise, but a lot quieter.
Took it to the dealer (I'm still under warranty), and they told me it was my inner fender and some clips were missing. They put brand new ones and gave the car back. Of course the day of my appointment, temperature was around 10-12 so the noise was quieter. Took it home the noise was still there...
The video was filmed at around -30...which is when the noise is a killer. The colder the louder....
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
*Edit, the car is a sedan 09 Civic SI

Yeah, it could have been the fender liner rubbing the tire or bouncing off the suspension parts...did the dealer fix the noise problem? Have you looked at your CV boots for cracks and or splits? You might have a buggered CV joint...check and make sure...
the flapping type noise?
Could be the front splash shield or fender liner

but the cold weather symptom is what gets me...

Today, I started shooting WD-40 one part a time to see if I could find the culprit.
Did the top plate, SB bushing etc. It did seem to bring the noise to an almost dead level when shooting the top plate with it.
I heard the top plates worns out pretty fast on these cars. But I still feel like it's a weird noise for a top plate overdue...? Am I insane?
There's rubber in the mounts and extreme cold does strange things to it. Like make it harden up and make a rattling noise.
Recommend you have the dealership honor their warranty and replace all the rubber in there or the whole assembly. Stand firm, show them the video on the phone. Use their free wi-fi to do it. lol

For those who may have this in the future :
Went to the dealer and this time they fixed the problem.
As I thought it was the front top plates that were done. (85k km) on the car.
