Searched the forum couldn't find it lol. Was wondering how to know what head you have? And I know its below the valve cover but what means what? Any help would be great! I'm not sure if I have a y8 head or a hx head

 

The valve covers won't really tell you anything as they can be swapped. The main difference between a Y5 and a Y8 head is the valve train. The Y5 has roller rockers and the the Y8 does not. Also if you have a Y7 head it won't have the holes for a VTEC solenoid. Look at these two pics for comparison:

Thank you!!. Also I was meaning on the casting of the head lol. Is there a difference in power?

 

Heads are the same casting and valve trains are swappable. The Y5 is meant more for fuel economy and therefore is going to give you less power for performance.
