Any advantage of Del sol parts on EF cars?
I am just wondering if there is any compatibility or advantage to using Del Sol parts on the EF civic or EF CRX?
There is a Del sol in the local junkyard and we have EF civics and a CRX with a zc motor waiting for install. Biggest need right now is to shop for the ZC install into that CRX....he needs: wiring harness, ECU, MPFI, motor mounts, and probably all kinds of stuff. Will that stuff fit a ZC? (I havent googled because I am too busy working on my cars all day, but I am hoping someone with knowledge will brief me on compatability.)
Also, for me, will the front upper strut tower bar from the Del Sol fit onto my '91 EF civic hatch?

Which AC are you talking about?
There is a variant of the ZC that is vtec and basically identical to the standard Z6 motor of the Del Slo.
Wiring harness - NO. You use the stock EF harness and modifiy it to fit the engine that you are swapping in. You might be able to use some of the connectors from the Del Slo harness, but you will NOT use the entire harness in any fashion.
ECU - If you get the ZC vtec (not the D15B) then the P28 ECU from the Del Slo is the right match.
MPFI - All of this will become available with your new engine.
Motor mounts - You use all your stock mounts. Engine mount by the timing belt requires some cutting of the belt to clear, or use a HASPort mount.
And probably all kinds of stuff - no? Unless you want to go rear disc brakes, then you can pull those from the Del Slo if it has them. Not really an upgrade though (heavier).

He has the longblock, but he is missing: AC compressor, alternator, power steering, fuel rail/injectors, and wiring harness.
I was simply wondering if there is chassis compatibility between the d-series delsol and d-series EF cars....that's why I thought the Delsol strut tower bar might fit the EF chassis. If no one knows for sure, I will put it off and walk it over to a EF car at the junkyard. I don't have to buy it to "test fit" it. :D
I just found out that his is a "black top" zc non-vtec.
I was hoping the delsol would be a match for him to get: distributor, alternator, AC, etc boltons ....but I guess not
