Default B16A cable trans snapping clutch cables

Hey guys I need some help, alright so I have a B16a Cable transmission and the clutch cable to the transmission broke, it snapped because it was old I'm assuming. So I replaced it and everything seemed to be going fine then in a couple days I couldn't even go into gear, I figured I would tighten the cable and I did. Then it was all good again, but when I pushed down the clutch it was real tight and felt like it was going to snap. Eventually it did because I had to keep tightening the cable so I could get into gear. Am I installing the cable wrong or is the actual transmission breaking? So I replaced it again and same problem occurs. I have to tighten the cable to get into gear. I know I can't keep doing this because there is just to much pressure on that cable and they'll just keep snapping. If you can help me please email me : eleazarhood@gmail.com thank you.
