Default 88 lx with B16 swap

Hey my name is Paul
I have a 88 lx with a b16 swap that was running great.
THEN no clue what the deal is , it started acting like it was laoding up at
low RPM.
I have taken the fuel pressure up and down and its gotten better but is still there.
When this issue started it also seems as though vtec pops but it almost loses power instead of taken off like it did.
I changed the fuel filter tonight and really that make any dif.
Any ideas would be great.
This is my first post and yes I an new.
Please help point me in the rite direction
Thank you much

Please describe more about it "laoding up." what do you mean?

1) You've adjusted the fuel pressure, so does that mean you also have a fuel pressure gauge? I want to confirm that you absolutely have adequate fuel.
2) Next simple check is to check for ECU trouble codes. For my D15, I just count the red blinks on the ECU's LED light (which is under my passenger floor carpet).

If by "laoding up", you mean than you press the gas but it is missing/bogging/"fighting you", I would troubleshoot the spark system. My car was just recently bogging/"fighting back" and it was the distributor (or a component of it).

Yes i have a gauge.
I have always ran 42# and tryed to take it down a lil once all this started it got worse
I am now running 62# and its much smoother.
I read on here it should be stock at 37#-47#.
Loading up is everything you said above.
And in v-tec at about 7000 it did it as well.

These are just my loose definitions:
Missing: obvious bucking/misfiring, but still manages to accelerate atleast a little
bogging: relentless loss of firing, possibly with total missing...no acceleration
"fighting back": if you are very gentle with the gas pedal, you can ease through the "bogging" and accelerate while it is still "missing"

I am hoping that yours is not doing any of these because you said you have been in VTEC range. If yours is doing any of these, you should absolutely NOT be revving that high..lol
------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
Now assuming that you are not experiencing those three (which would probably make it impossible to reach VTEC rpm's), I am guessing that you are just experiencing minor power-loss. If so, I would suggest checking for ECU trouble codes.

IFFF you have no trouble codes, I would check for vacuum leaks and check the timing. If you still have found nothing wrong, I'd check the random sensors: IAT, O2, MAP, EGR, etc etc.

My Nissan RB20DET motor had a "loss of full power" problem and it took me three months before I realized that my Mass Air Flow Sensor wiring had a corroded wire. It gave incorrect readings about the AIR going into the motor, and therefore the ECU was not injecting the proper amount of FUEL to match the AIR.....hence...bad AIR/FUEL ratio= Not full power...it was slower and hard to reach higher revs.

So, it's also a good idea just to check the following just for good measure:

-Check spark plug condition.
-Pull 1 spark plug wire at a time to check for a change in idle.
-If you have external coil, clean those connections on the coil wire going to dizzy cap.

If you haven't done a tune up recently, new plugs, wires, cap and rotor are in order. The ignition coil would be my next guess.
