Default 1998 ITR Trunk Bar

dont know the correct name for it. But my 2000 ITR had this bar on the rear section for the trunk panel, Well I try to install it on my 98 and it doesnt fit. so im gussing only 00-01 Type R had this upgrade on the suspension?

the only place it has holes one side doesnt line up with the other side.

Those are not the correct holes for it anyway it's just sheet metal. Type-R's have a second set of reinforced holes with cage nuts welded on the back side that the bar mounts to.

Edit: Looks like you either have a one off ITR or the entire rear section was replaced with a non-itr panel..

That's so wierd because from what I know car has never been wrecked i been underneath the car several times never notice anything. Wierd like it has been repainted or in a big accident.

Yeah I though about that.. but I just want to know why it doesnt have the hole if all the other models have it... I might have to spend the $50 bucks for a damn carfax.

1998 and 2000 use the same part number for the part you pictured.

All integras have those 2 holes that you posted there. The ITR has an extra set of holes about an inch further on each side that are stronger and have a nut welded on the back side. Even if you made a bar that fit those holes you have, it wouldnt serve any function, it's just thin sheet metal.

I'll post a picture tomorrow of what it's supposed to look like.

Is the suspension brace in the back bigger than the one in the trunk? If so could you have mixed them up?

All vin numbers are Type R numbers as of carfax and autocheck. Beside the two small holes in the picture i posted there another two that have threads and all. But this trunk bar doednt fit because of the length. So thats where im confuse why it did on the 2000 ITR and on my 98 it doesnt. I would take better pictures tomorrow
