Default Fans not working

The fans on my cb7 accord don't seem to be working like they should. Only the passenger side one comes on when I turn the a/c on. When I jumped the plug for the temprature sensor nearest the thermo housing, none of them came on. This was done with the car battery in its ON position. I tried starting the car with it unplugged and the engine was boggin down and about to die so I turned it off an plugged it back in... Turned the car back on an everything ran perfect. Does this rule out a bad temp switch?

I heard the fans SHOULD come on though if you jump that wire, so idk what's going on.

I haven't heard the fans come on in a long while though, even after long trips.
It doesn't overheat though, the needle stays where its supposed to.

The fact the fans didn't come on when I jumped the switch is concerning, what do I do? I just don't hear them coming on anymore. Someone on a cb7 forum said they don't come on in the winter/ spring season but I don't know if that's entirely true. Even though the engines are very efficient at cooling.

You could have a bad fuse or relay. The fan motor could even possibly be bad. Check your fuse/relay first before you put a fan motor in it. Also check your grounds. There is one in the thermostat housing as well.

Its not in the thermo housing on mine you must be thinking of h22... anyways. I checked the relays and fuses according to that super great write up the guy made on here. I switched the relays with good ones and tested the voltage to the wiring... Turns out it is more than likely the motor. It was making some weird noises too, loud elephant like sounds, even when it was off. I thought it was the condenser belt cause it would do it as I was decelerating... but that doesn't explain why it did it when the car was off (condenser fan).
The good man in that DIY said if your car has over 120,000 miles, 8 out of 10 times its the motor.

Ok yeah. If you were hearing those kind of noises then the bushings in the motor are trash and you need a new motor. The cb7 i don't really remember now. Aren't the ground on the driver side of bottom of the intake manifold? The upper manifold. I know on my cd5 that's where it is.

The ground is there for all three of those generations of cars. It's at the front side of the thermostat housing as 92civic said. Apply direct battery power to that fan connector to see if the motor is indeed shot. Obviously be careful and be clear when you do that you don't want to get hurt.
