92 honda accord no click no start
Hello I'm new to this thread and working on imports but no stranger to auto mechanics. I'm trying to help my nephew with his car. He bought a few days ago and it started and ran for about an hour then died. We found the 50 amp fuse blown on it and have replaced it several times now. I've already replaced the main relay and ignition switch after reading a few threads here, but still no luck. There are times it will crank and then blow the fuse. Other times it blows soon as u turn the key. Can someone please help me and point me in the right direction.
Im not sure that this would be the problem for it shorting out, or blowing the fuse, but have you checked the starter? That could be it, I recently bought a car that wouldnt click, or turn over at all and it ended up being a starter
if he is blowing a fuse then there is a bad ground somewhere as far as it not starting then yes the starter is a good place to start it could possibly just need cleaned
Yeah I took the starter off and had it tested at Oreillys it checked out good. I just did a resistance check on coil as described in the Chiltons book and coil failed the test. So now I'm running to go buy a coil and see what happens.
