So 98 hatch D16Y7 manual 138k

problem she has been having is like 10 to 15 mins into her ride the car will do like half a sec power cut/misfire... I have yet to get it to happen , but now I have codes!
misfire PO300, PO301 , PO303, but tune up is not that old.....

so I need to know Is this a coil Issue or relay some where?

She said when it happens some time the lights cut out also , every now and then it would die but would start right back up no issues

So now i'm left guessing! I don;t just wanna start replacing parts randomly I gotta fix this before I can work on my projects,

if car shuts off completely when in motion/lights shutting off i would lean towards alternator. if that checks out -

Spark plugs/wires
battery
vacuum leaks - hoses/gaskets (in.manifold/throttle body/etc.)
distributor rotor/coil/ICM

basically in that order - most can be tested/checked easily.

other possibles
main relay
timing / timing belt
head gasket leak
ignition switch


any other codes? any strange exhaust smell/color?

 

So I gave it a tune up cuz it needed one but after that I got to happen.

All that happened today was driving about. 5-10 into it is I to a light and on take off all I got was a quick half sec check engine light then was fine and kept driving. Didn't feel any thing else so not sure what else it was

 

Try a cooler plug. I had the same issue on my ls/v during normal driving.
