CEL Flashing HELP
Hello H-T,
I have a 1995 5 speed acura integra with 95k original miles. Today I was driving normal keeping it under 3k rpm and noticed that when I went from 1st-2nd gear it felt like the timing belt had skip a tooth. At the same time that happened, I saw my CEL flash real quick. This happened to me two times today and the second time happened when I was going up on an on ramp to get on the freeway. I hit a little bump while shifting into 2nd and thats when it happened again.
I commute 120 miles a day and the roads are really bumpy. I was thinking my mounts were going bad or it may be my timing belt tensioner since its going bad.
Temps were fine and there was no odd oder.
Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I did a quick check on my timing belt by taking the VC off and it seems like my belt is on right. it isn't too loose nor is it too tight. I'm not sure if you can tell if a belt is on properly just by feeling the tension from the top of the belt.
One thing I did not include was that I take my car to redline quite often and just recently my 2nd gear started grinding high rpm and making it much more difficult to put the car into first or 2nd.
The CEL would sometimes flash if I bang from 1-2nd gear and at the same time the gears would grind. Keep in mind that I haven't flushed the Tranny fluid nor have I ever changed the clutch. I plan on doing that during the weekend so hopefully that might make my problem go away.

Make sure your plugs wires are in snug to the distributor cap
Double check wires inside the distributor have clean contacts and are on tight
Have the coil and icm tested at a local autoparts store
I would start there...I had a similar issue a few months ago and it was the coil being on its last leg...

OK, you "think" the timing belt "may" have skipped a tooth and your still driving the car even though your not sure on how the check if it has.
The next sound you may hear will a very ugly one, and engine will definatly not start again.
I would not start that engine again untill I have confirmed valve timing is correct, [timing belt has not skipped a tooth].
It is pretty easy to do, no special tools needed, no special skill/knowledge needed, a Google search or search here will get you 100s of DIYs.
Your cost to check, is a little time, if it has skipped and it skips some more, [ugly sound] your cost = $$$$.
If it turns out the belt is not the problem, you have lost nothing and eliminated it as the possible problem, if it is the problem, you have saved yourself a lot of time/energy/money, not to mention grief. 94

Sounds like he said he checked the timing and it looks ok.
The CEL flashing like that leads me to think somewhere you have a loose plug, a loose wire, or bad spark plug wires, etc.
Check all your wiring, make sure none of them are broken and that they're all nicely snapped into place.
After confirming that, make sure that you don't have any loose, frayed, or exposed wiring.
It really sounds like a bad connection somewhere

No, what he said was, "I'm not sure if you can tell if a belt is on properly just by feeling the tension from the top of the belt."
A timing belt is something you need to know for sure is "OK", not just looks OK.
Also you can not check the timing belt by just pulling the VC. 94
