Quick question - transmission removal

Default Quick question - transmission removal

I'm removing my transmission and following the service manual instructions. It says to remove my distributor. Do I really need to remove the dizzy?? I don't see why it is necessary.

Mark where you have it and take it off, it'll be better in the long run.
