Default A simple job turned difficult

So I went to perform an ATF drain/fill on my '02 and was pissed to see the trans. drain plug have a stripped head My car had the infamous Accord trans. failure at 137k miles so I had AAMCO put in a rebuilt unit about 30k miles ago. It's upsetting that those idiots put in a unit with a jacked up drain plug. So a simple DIY that shouldn't take more than 20 min has become a drawn out chore. Does anyone have any relatively pain-free ways to remove this thing? I really don't feel comfortable blow-torching anything and want to be careful to not damage the transmissions's aluminum body. Thanks in advance.

An easy out like the ones linked above, or vise grips.

Use a dremel and dremel a flat head slash into it and get a large screwdriver. Problem solved. Next option is drill it out. I usually drill right down the middle and then hammer a hex head allen wrench into the hole that I drilled. I start real small and work my way up. Turn the hex head and walah, it breaks loose. I have had that work for quite a few stripped headed bolts I've come across as well as broke bolts.

Sounds ghetto, and it is but it has worked pretty well.

Finally, take it to somewhere that welds alum and have them tack a good bolt onto the stripped one.

Good luck.

PS: Easy outs have never worked for me.
