Default another ls/v all motor build.

So i have been around this site for a fair amount of time and have never had a build thread because i always bought turbo cars that were already built but this time i built this car from the ground up. when i bought the car it was a piece of **** that was 3 colors of red and had quarter panel damage on both sides. now she is painted viper red and is the love of my life. 100% of my time and money for the past 4 months have gone into this car but she is now starting to burn oil so im treating her to a fresh rebuild. nothing to crazy just a mild ls/v with a ls trans. my goals are to make around 190whp while looking completely stock

THE LIST!!

this is what i already have

competition clutch stage 1.5
arp rod bolts
arp race bearings
ge ls/v conversion kit
npr rings
npr usdm type r p73 pistons 81.5mm
honda oem gsr oil pump
npw gsr water pump (purchased on accident thought i was buying oem)
oem gsr timing belt
new oem valve seals
arp head studs
65mm pro products tb
stock ls trans
CTR cams
gsr head (light port work)
skunk 2 valve train
aem cam gears

THINGS I NEED
stock gsr intake manifold complete (fuel rail/sensors etc) port matched to tb
ecu chipped on chrome
310 injectors (whould like some that look stock)
header(might run stock gsr header an exhaust but that will be temporary)
all machine shop work done(bored/honed/balanced/micro polished etc

my goal is to have a set up that looks stock. i live in ca so smog is a ***** out here i know it wont pass but i just dont want cops to **** with me. im gna run
a h22 heat shield welded up to cover my header wen i get a aftermarket piece and use the stock intake just going to put in a different filter.

NOW FOR THE PICS!!!

Nce to see you have some goals for a sleeper motor, sounds like you have a good list going and already have most of the parts..As for NPW water pump i bought the same pump 3.4k miles no issues so far..from what I understand NPW is an OEM supplier for some car manufacturers so quality should be good.. we have similar builds (mine is missing the bigger TB i have stock GSR TB non ported or matched) and i only made 182 HP last month..just to give you an idea.. I have stock motor mounts although i did use the Energy Suspension inserts for the rear and tranny torque mounts as well as a Hasport Tranny mount..stiffer than before but with minimal vibrations compared to stock..good luck with the build.

Im running the hasport 70A mounts for my H22. There is a little vibration on clutch engagement but other than that its really smooth. Id recommend running aftermarket mounts.

Good luck on your build. It would be nice if you would go more into detail once it starts

I would find a shorter geared transmission.

thats good to here as i plan on keeping the water pump and i think i shall go the same route as u did with the energy inserts and replacing the the tranny mount.

thanks man. im on a tight budget but i think i will atleast change out the tranny mount and get new energy inserts to tighten things up a bit. i will def update with more details and pics once the motor is out and again once it is back from the machine shop. i do plan on useing honda clearance specs. im going to have the machine shop do the brain surgery and then i will stitch it all back together.

looks like a solid build man, but trust me find you a busted b16 tranny somewhere for cheap and grab the 4.40 fd. the ring gear will bolt on to your ls diff and all you gota do is switch the counter shafts....if your willing to give tranny work a shot. you will be sooo glad you did.lol. good luck
