as it says im new to swapping exterior parts an was told I could change out my 89 doors with 90 doors an would just have to wire up the relays an doors for the electrical, so im lookin to see if this is right, anyone here know or have done this to save from headache of takin door completely apart?

 

I've read a few threads here and the conclusion is that they are in interchangeable but are not 100% the same as far as fitment. I haven't seen anything specific about the electrical differences though.

 

I'd be interested to know if doors from other hatchback years will fit my 89 Civic si hatchback. There's no power to the doors....all manual. My driver's side door is dented so if I could find a red match on another model I'd go with that versus bodywork.

 

@24ten wouldn't the fitment be the same since they are all 4dr? hinges on the door themselves are exactly the same distance from each other on both 89 and the 90
and @hondastalker iv read a lot that 88-89 crx doors are the same, just cant find much info on 4dr lol

 

Didn't realize you were referring to the 4 door. I don't know about those.

 

ah well ya lol got the doors, now just gotta find a good detailed write-up for wiring the doors and locks up.

 

90-91 4 door civic rear doors didnt fit on my 89.
Had to do some mods. as the door jam is inch away diffrence.
I dont know about the front doors

 

Im converting rear doors and just changing door cards. front doors fit without issues just gonna be a pain wiring auto doors into a car without them lol.

 

ok so im down to the wiring but have tons of wires im confused of what goes together an where to tap into a power source. fyi if its not in engine bay im lost in the wiring depot
