Default sleepyaccord96's 94 DX hatch build/paint

Well here is my build/paint thread. I for some reason was a dumb a** and didn't take any photos of us doing the full h22a swap but i did however take some photos of it getting new paint and what not. I will upload pics when i get home tonight. Car is currently being sanded and buffed so i am unable to take finished product pics at this time. Should have the car back at home tomorrow.

let's keep in mind i am a proud father of my son philip who is just under 2 months old and money is tight but this is the best we can do for now.

mis matched seats (dc cloth fronts, eg hatch si rears)
brand new oem floormats
95 gsr shift ****
95 prelude shifter assy.
autometer oil pressure, water temp, volt meter
autometer triple pod
old woodgrain grant wheel (soon to be replaced)
all floor tar removed
all stereo components removed
firewall foam pads removed
evap core removed

suspension/brakes:
99 integra knuckles all the way around

exterior:

jdm thin moldings installed

jdm oem rear hatch trunk ( nothing special or different than usdm besides my tag won't fit)
Custom House of Kolors dark green metallic/teal/idk what with HoK icy pearl.

No body work was done as this is primarily a DD and gets beat to death 24/7.

Pics will be up tonight, and the finished pics showing the new paint job will be posted tomorrow sometime.

Sorry this is such a crappy build thread but i never realized people made threads showing every little detail of what was done to their car as they went.

these are bad pics because of all the clear coat dust in the air.. still waiting til thursday or friday til i bring it home since he is wet sanding and buffing it. color looks amazing and it is quite unique if you ask me.

That is all i got until i get the car back from him and get my new drivers side mirror on, my pass side oem block off plate and all the door seals on. And i got new trim for the doors where the glass meets the door, ya know the ones that always peel and look silverish/chrome underneath the black.

We did the adhesion promoter, then sealed it with transtar black, then 3 coats of base coat, followed by a coat of dupont clear with HoK icy pearl in it, then 2 more coats of just pure clear. Sorry for the multiple posts!

Curious why you didnt take the 2 min to take out the headlights?
Was there overspray anywhere in the engine bay since the hood is spaced? Anything get taped off in there?

no overspray got under the hood. it was taped off very well. and the headlights were just taped off like crazy just becuase i decided to leave em in there to help from over spray going into the bay.

She has been sanded and buffed and is in the process of being polished and from there i will put the tailights and trim on it and bring it home. color looks amazing and is very hard to describe but in the day light it looks insane.

You know those strips (trim) that goes along the top of door, they usually peel and look almost like chrome underneath? I got those two strips and i went ahead and got a brand new drivers side mirror and a passenger side block off from honda. Also, the door seals are kinda funky to change, i had mine on and off a few times during this whole process and they definatly need to be changed. Also, ya know the "sub" seals on the doors that go under the pillar trim and up and around the door frame... those are roughly 55 a piece at honda, gonna get those pretty soon.

this hatch actually used to have a nice lil jdm b16a with oem lsd trans but it got snatched out and thrown into my del sol which i sold. lovin' the h22 now, so far so good. No axle issues or anything.

Wow nice job on the paint!! I wish mine was this easy, I feel like I could have painted ten cars with all the paint and body work I had to put in mine. Again awesome job, can't wait to see this in a couple of days when it's done!!
