Getting worn out, how many miles are on it? You could also try cleaning the shift solenoids for debris.

Have you checked for codes? A code may have been stored, do not unhook the battery to 'clear' the check engine light. Retrieve the code first.

Verify that your TPS has a linear change in voltage, and again check the carbon tracking with the TPS unplugged with an Ohm meter. If the TPS is worn it can cause erratic or no shift events.

Verify that all electrical connectors are not broken/damaged/corroded.

If the shifting is harsh check the NM shaft sensor.

If lockup does not occur check the NC sensor.

TCU may have a faulty capacitor and/or resistors.
