Questions about my 1989 civic hatch si
I recently purchased an 1989 Honda Civic Si and I was wondering mainly how rare it is?!
I know that in 1988 there were no ef Si and in 1989-1991 they made ef si's but the 1990-1991 ef si had seat belts on the doors mounted. So there fore its a heavier car.
But the ef so from 1989 same as ef hatch from 1988-1989 have car body seat belts.
My Si is the lightest model of an ef so my point being. I'm just wondering how rare the car is..
It has a few rust spots where its eaten up leaving wholes. I think it was crashed in the driver quarter panel rear one. But the car doesn't leak from the shbroof has the OEM interior still and OEM engine D16A6 block with a head stamped PM9-4 I was told it isn't the OEM head. And the car is stick shift.
Car specs.
White pearl Z - NH-512Z paint code.
D16A6 block and tranny.
Pm9-4 head... - ??????
Full interior si with rips.
Rpm cluster stick shift.
Clean title.

And I mean like this ^ thats something I didn't even think of about my car. Which is the most common color for it or a rare color. Thanks!,,! Ef<3

[QUOTE=Z0831xiz;48608590]I recently purchased an 1989 Honda Civic Si and I was wondering mainly how rare it is?!
I just picked one up a few weeks ago in the Columbus, Ohio area. Can't speak to how rare they are, but it sure drives nice. 206k miles and very fast, yet I get 38 highway.

the 88 ef comes with a **** tranny, 89-91 all have the same tranny, 88-89 have different bumper, corner lenses, moldings, tail lights, the seats mount different if i remember.. pretty much the ef to get is the 89, but yours is not the lightest, cx is the lightest, then dx and si
"sun roof" i have an 89 dx and i wouldnt go with any other ef
ps yes thats an si decal, its covering up a scar from the dx badge and ive almost completely converted the car si, engine, entire interior and exterior minus disk and sunroof

isn't offset how much the wheel sticks outwards? towards the fender? orr what is it? i don't really know, just a vague notion lol.
The 1989 ED7 is a one year only car in North America much like the 1997 integra type R. You can learn more about the 1989 in my restoration build thread below
