Hello. I am hoping someone on this forum will be able to assist me. I recently purchased a used 2006 Honda CR-V SE. This is actually my second CR-V. I love the car. I am trying to put a front license plate on the vehicle, but have run into a problem. The normal place area on the bumper where the license plate screw holes would be have been removed from the bumper. There are two square holes there. There are screw holes in the bumper, but they are outside of those square holes, meaning wider than the normal screw area of a license plate. Is there anything I can do to rectify this issue? I went to the Honda dealership, but they couldn't figure it out. They said I would just need a new bumper or find a way to rig it where I am drilling into the car (an option I am not ok with). Can someone help me? I don't know why the previous owners would have done this, but is there an easy, after-market fix?
