Default D16Y8 help

i have just done a engine and loom swap on a 92 crx the doner was a 99 civic 1.5 vtec, here is a list of prob's
1. no spark
2.wont crank (hear relays when turn the key)
3. had no key with donar car
this is what i have done.
i got some advice and was told to remove a chip from ecu and remove the black box. this will override the immobiliser. but will put it in limp mode.

after bypassing the starter motor to get it to crank i find i have no spark.
after 2 days and a lot of posting on forum's i get no help looking around i find every time i got to crank the inertia switch trips. will this stop it from sparking and from cranking i want to get the engine running before i do any more work on it so any advice will be a big help..

There is no b15z6

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_B_engine
Did you mean a d15z6?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_D_engine#D15Z6

When you say 92 CRX is it an actual CRX or a del sol? If it is a CRX I would post this in the CRX forum.

What ECU are you using?

But you never posted in the CRX forum?

And answer the question; What ECU are you using?

You used a 99 harness in a 92? How in the earth did you manage that? Should have used the harness that came in it.

You need to use your original harness, intake manifold, and distributor from your obd1 engine. If thats not possible you need to convert the new ones to obd1. You'll either need to chip your original ecu or get/make a conversion harness to get the ecu to work properly. You really need to do some research on this.

right this is how the car come to me

im using a honda civic engine loom and ecu, y wont this work it works in a civic? yes i am having problems i deal with frensh cars.. i did not have any of the orignal parts to make it work on obd. i have done the hardwork engine and loom is in, i have a spark i have had to use an after markit inline fuel pump and filter, yes i have to change some of the connecters for the dash and i will also have to relocate the battery none of this i am botherd about. it is also to late to use stock harness as all the work has been done. i am on here for tec advice not to be slated for what i have done. tbf i think i have done a good job and progress has come a long way from when i had car and i have maniged to do it with no help and low funds.

There is no such thing as a D15Y8. Check the stamp on the engine block please.

Cause it's a hybrid. No CRXs came with Y8s and P2P ECUs with immobilizers in them (which you say you modified in some sort of hacked way and now it's in limp mode). Even in the UK. At the very least it needs to go IN the Hybrid section. And the fact you don't seem to know what it is you actually have going on coupled with an inertia switch you say is tripping when the car isn't even moving?.

The last thing I'm going to offer is to check whether the rubber stopper (red arrow) that presses on the safety starter switch located at the top of the clutch pedal has fallen out or is broken. That seems to be a common issue with Civics. have no clue about CRXs. Hence why this should not be in this forum.

this is a hackjob. too many potential variables with wiring issues to really figure out.

You need a wiring harness that came with the car or another one from one of those cars it does not matter if the harness came with the motor if it does not match the chasis it will not plug in properly and will not work properly. You really need to get this in the CRX forum since most of us have little to no experience with them.

i have plenty. what the op is doing is way more of a headache than is necessary. your crx has a two piece harness, the 96-00 is a one piece. your problem is your wiring. afaik, there is no immobilizer in any 96-00 civic ecu. inertia switches were not on us models either.
