Icon2 CRX speed sensor

I have a 91 crx HF with a D16Y7 swapped in and a 1988 CRX tranny in it. My ECU is flashing a (20)speed sensor and a (17) ELD. Now I know it sounds stupid but I cant find the speed sensor on the CRX 88 trans sooo where is it? And I need a new fuse box if my ELD goes out. right? And where can i get a speed sensor will all 88-91 speed sensors be the same or do i need one off an 88?

The speed sensor, the actual sensor, is in the cluster. Those rarely go bad, I have never seen or heard one go bad.
What you want to do is make sure the cable at the transmission is pushed in all the way and making contact with the gear. then make sure the cable is also connected securely at the back of the cluster. If the cable is OK and it turns as the car moves and it's conected to the back of the cluster, then look for missing screws on the back of the cluster. There is one screw directly behind the speedometer that has a label I think SP that HAS to be there. If the screw is missing, there is no speedo signal going back to the ECU.

Does your speedo work?

No the only things on my cluster that work are temp and gas. No speedo or tack.

The speedo is mechanical, all it needs is the cable going from the transmission to the back of the cluster and it needs to spin as the wheels move.
Get that going first.
The tach is electrical, you have a wiring problem and it could be a million things.
