Koni Yellow Install-HELP!!!
I had a shop install koni yellows on my 2004 rsx and well these idiots told me that they've never done that type of work AFTER it was done. Now mind you this shop had great reviews online and a friend with a 93 RX-7 took his car there and they did a good job so it wasn't a completely random shop I chose. Now I still have the stock springs on the car (which may have been my initial mistake) and I took it to another shop and asked them to take a look at it and they said the springs look completely compressed in the back (the car looks like a spaceship 10ft above ground in the back). Now I honestly do not know a lot about suspension so advice is greatly appreciated!!!!
Do I need to get some aftermarket lowering springs on there? I am driving 500 miles in 2 weeks so I am extrememly pressed for time and need to order any parts that I may need ASAP.
I'm not too interested in "lowering" the car for looks just for ride. I bought the Koni's because my car has 120K miles and I just wanted to put some good money and parts into the suspension so I wouldn't have to worry about it in the next couple of years.
I need to get this car riding right! Please help!!
Thanks in advance.

they messed up somewhere you shouldnt have to buy coils tho someone correct me if im wrong but your stock springs should be fine they messed up somewhere on the install
Does anyone on here have the Koni's installed on their car?
They shop that installed them told me that they had to drill somewhere on them that they weren't a direct fit....

Good! I was starting to get worried.
Can't open the link at work, but I will take a look at it tonight.
So I'm wondering what they did wrong if the springs are as compressed as the shop just advised me. The current shop thinks that the install shop put in the wrong springs, but how can I verify that and why would they even do that?
I just wish I had the equipment to take the suspension apart or even look at it a little closer, but I have nothing!
BTW thanks so much for your responses!

like put someone elses springs on or put the front on the back and back on the front? you would have to jack it up take off the tire and inspect it not sure if there are any markings on the oem springs to tell if they are yours or not but worth a shot can you post a pic of what your car looks like?

Koni only makes inserts for front MacPherson style suspension for EP3/DC5/EM2/ES1's. Anything based off that chassis, including CR-V's. It's mainly a cost issue.
But anyway, they're supposed to drain the fluid out of the old strut body and install insert into the OEM shock body.
To be completely honest, while a little time consuming, it's not difficult.
