JDM B20 and EVAP Purge Solenoid
Okay I can't seem to find much info on this from the folks over in the CRV forum and I figured someone over here knows something about this.
I have a 1998 CRV that blew a engine. I purchased the 99-00 B20 from hmotors which has 20 more hp than the 97-98 model.
Anyways It seems like in Japan they don't use a EVAP Purge Solenoid and I was wondering if I could just block the line coming off of the purge canister or if it would be better to throw a T fitting on the line from the PCV Valve to the intake and just fit the old Purge solenoid into there to fix any possible CEL issues.
Any help would be great guy, thanks!
One last thing this newer engine has a knock sensor and my old one didn't I guess if the ECU isn't looking for it, it wont matter that it's unplugged?

you can just rip the evap system out(car will run just fine). but if you have visual emmsions inspections where you live. Then the blocking it off should work. as for the kock sensor if the ecu isn't looking it should't be an issue
Ideally, you'll want to get the JDM 99-00 ECU, and run the knock sensor wire to the ECU.
The JDM ECU won't look for the EVAP Purge solenoid, but will look for the knock sensor.
The EVAP system can be removed and the lines plugged. Been driving mine like that for years.
