can someone explain to me how to reset my P28 ecu for an automatic its for a ZC engine similar to a D16z6.. it was on a manual honda before i dont know why but im guessing it still thinks that it is because it is not letting me change my gears

 

its simple you buy a new one from an automatic.

 

well to reset the ecu you just unhook the negative battery terminal for 10 minutes

 

resetting the ECU wont do anything for you.

 

Nope, resetting the ecu just clears it and makes it relearn things like idle and fuel trims. You need the automatic p28 ecu. Yes, there is a difference in p28 ecus and all ecus

Post ecu code. And open her up and post a pix of the resistor setup. Bottom right coner r18 and r17.

Then we can tell u.

 

if it has 4 plugs it's auto 3 it's manual.. sombody could of removed the resistor to make in manual but dosn't work the other way

On obd1 if it was and auto you cam convert to manual and then back to auto with just the resistors and jumper.
