D15B2 whistling sound?
Hey guys, a honda noob here.
There is a whistling sound coming from my engine, but this sound comes and goes. I was told by a friend it could be my timing belt.
I can start my car and the sound is there, but if i turn it off and turn it back on the sound is sometimes gone?
Normal, not normal?
Sorry if thats not enough information as i said above im a noooob.
If you have questions as to more information i will try to answer them the best i can

Is it Whistling or squeeling/screeching?
Its hard to know with the info you have given. But a loose or worn accessory belt can cause a high pitched screeching upon cold starts.
With the motor off check them for tighness and check the condition of the belts (which are on the driver side). Push on them to see how tight they are, they should only have a few MM's of deflection (sorry I forget the specs), and examine the back side (ribbed side) for cracks.
If thats not the cause then you can try to locate where the sound is coming from with a short legth of hose, one end in your ear and the other to probe around and find the noise.
You could even post a video clip here and we should be able to recognise if its a belt squeel right away or if its something else.

Hard to diagnose without hearing the sound.
When is the last time you had any belts changed?
Could also be intake related. Do you have an aftermarket intake arm?
Does this happen at certain times only - lie only on cold starts?
Could also be a leak in exhaust.

Thanks for the video that will help alot.
Is that coming from your speakers? It sounds like some sort of electrical interference thats being picked up by your radio (mine does this a bit) the pitch changes as the engine RPM's rise. This can occor when a circuit isn't sheilded properly from the various electrical fields from components in the car. it also seems to get louder as it gets closer to the door speaker.
If you think it is, you could turn off the radio to test it out.
Did you just recently alter the wiring at all?
