Need help.
Hi all i am trying to decide what to do next my buddy is always running his mouth that his b18c hatch is faster than my 99 em1 i want to do a swap dont want to afford a kswap was thinking f20b anyone have any ideas? or input? thanks for reading.
EM1s have B-series in them already. Maybe you might want to be a tad more specific.
Frankly I think this whole thread is silly. You're not going to be doing any swap.

I did not know em1s came with b series. Not to good with all the civic code names and jargon. If there's already a b in it then no need to swap cause b-series is best imo
Sure you did. And that was it.
Your goal is to be able to beat your friend in a street race? Hm. Peer pressure as a motivator. Sad.
But anyone should know you put in the biggest engine with the most horsepower you can afford.

I never said street race we do auto x and hit up willow springs occasionally and where was the advice given? The biggest engine so throw a j swap in handling goes out the window i was being serious when i asked for input
lol boost causing overheating? Maybe you should worry more about class-allowed modifications before you worry about beating your friend. You obviously have a lot of learning to do. Also, the J is ok, but the C32B is better. It also won't "throw your handling out the window".
If you're in any auto-x circuit worth mentioning, swapping your stock B16A2 for a beefier B18 variant, B20, K, C, J, or whatever else will put you in a different class. You should worry more about improving your driving skills. Until you're driving to 105% of both yours and your car's capabilities, you don't need to worry about power adders. I guarantee you aren't anywhere near that.

This thread has the potential to degrade into a flame war. Everyone should know that I would not approve of this. Just sayin' - a friendly reminder to give thoughtful replies.
