What transmission would be best for my 97 accord with an h22 swap
I have a 1997 honda accord with a h22A4 swap and I'm looking for a tranny with would be better and stronger any ideas on what would fit bests ?
If that H22A4 was boosted + lowered VTEC engagement I would agree with the F22 trans (from an Accord Wagon = 4.2FD, all other 4cyl Accords, 4.0 FD). Since you haven't said I would couple it with the original transmission, possibly swap the FD for a higher one if you favor a kick in accel in trade for cruising mpg and top speed. [MFactory sells em] The wide gears in the F22 trans will throw the H22 out of the hi-cam after a shift and just make it feel painfully sluggish.
Well what are you looking for? The end speed of the gears between the H22 trans and the GSR trans is around 1-3.5mph differences. They're almost identical excluding the 5th. The GSRs 5th is a massive drop off for cruising. Now if you were dropping in a B16 trans (Ex: Del Sol VTEC) that would be a different story, which is tighter than both. At that point though you might be shifting almost as much as pulling, i.e. your average pulling time/amount might be less despite the gearing advantage.

A B-series tranny will not fit an Accord/Prelude/Odyssey chassis. You're effectively limited to an H/F-series trans.
Run the shortest geared transmission you can afford.
