Default Engine Swap B16C5

here is my plans, I met this guy that is selling a full b16c5, with tranny, wiring harness, engine, axels, ecu. Everything for a swap, I want to buy a 92 civic hb, and drop the motor, what model do i need, or does any model work? Also what else should i look for in doing this, Im buying all those parts above for 5800, and the car for 2000, the motor has 15k miles on garantee out of a 2000 type-r integra. Let me know what i need to do thanks guys.

Michael

ps: im new and wanting to learn.

Yeah man you're talking about a B18C5, not a B16C5. There was no such thing as a B16C5 - the B16 Type R motor is a B16B.

No biggie -you said you want to learn so you've come to the right place.

http://www.hondamotorsonline.com sells the full Type R swaps for only $4,800.00. Tell your seller this and even print up their price lists and see if he'll knock off some moneym because $5,800.00 is about the 2 years ago price for the Integra Type R swaps.

I have a Type R motor in my 1992 Civic hatch so if you have any questions I'm sure that myself and others can help you with anything you need.

Good luck!

***EDIT***

If that motor is 100% for sure legit then it's not a horrible deal.

Let me explain.

The mileage is super-low and if it's from a 2000 ITR then you also know the motor's basically brand new. That to me is the only real selling point - 100% for sure you 'll know the mileage and condition.

Where was the car hit?

the price is a little high, but the mileage is pretty low and the engine's history is known. if you have the money, do it. it's one hell of a fast car.

any 1992-2000 hatchback can easily house this engine. i'd go with a 1992-1994, personally, because it's the best looking .

the swap is easy. my friend and I can do it in five hours now

You need to take it easy.

First buy the car. Then do alot of research. Any 92-95 will do.

There is no b16c5. It's the b18c5

The swap can be bought from http://www.hondamotorsonline.com or http://www.importsalvage.com for much cheaper + it is from Japan, so it makes a little bit more power.

To see what is involved in the swap, take a look here....

Do not rash into it unless you don't care about $$$$.

Do a search. 99.9% of questions you have have been answered already here or on the web. http://www.google.com is your friend.

Good luck,

Nikos
