Default d16z6 oil leak

I have a 95 civic ex with a d16z6. when i got it i noticed a wet oil pan and was told this is a common problem so I put a new oil pan gasket in. after doing this, I still noticed some oil on the trans side of the pan. so looking farther i noticed the
black box and flywheel cover were caked with oil so I decided to do a o ring on
the black box. after I had the back box off it looked as if there was oil coming
from above the black box (see pictures) I am trying to figure out what could
cause this. I've seen it could be a head gasket but wouldn't that require
coolant to be leaking also since the cooling jackets are on the outside of the
oil seal? any input will be appreciated. thanks.

thats where the stem coming out of the pcv breather goes in, i took it off so you could see a little better where the oil is coming from

Oh yeahh duhhh, haha thats where the pvc box plugs into. I feel slighty stupid now. Is it only in that spot where it leaks? Like no leakdown on the block from the head?

so it's not coming out of where the pcv box sits ?(it shouldn't be) but i thought i'd ask. try degreasing that whole area and run the car for a while a previous oil spill/leak left over can throw you off.

i dont see any leaks just old oil stains that are probably burned onto the block this is NO leak. looks like natural oil slug caked up from oil dripping down the back side of te block... maybe vtec solenoid or dizzy o ring.... the pvc hose needs to be connected back to the black box though.

How old is the motor? im thinking that the rings are fried and letting so much blowby through. Hence why your stem and pvc are soaked.
Once again just a thought, not for sure though.

Might as well clean that breather box, joint and PCV hose, too. I recently did mine, and they were almost completely caked shut. That might be the cause of your oil pan leaks: crankcase pressure from a gunked up PCV system. LA's Totally Awesome Cleaner from Dollar General works great, and it only costs a dollar. Awesome degreaser.

you mean take the hose from the pcv valve to the breather box off and clean the inside of it? the fitting where the hose goes into the pcv above the black box, to get that out do you just pull the hose?

I'm right in the middle of replacing the oil pan gasket on my 93 del sol si
D16Z6 also. I have disconnected the exhaust pipe and removed the rear engine stiffener that bolts from the block to the tranny (auto in my case).
I noticed that when I removed the 2 bolts for the stiffener that go in to the block a lot of oil seemed to come out of the bolt hole of the longer of those 2 bolts. I have already drained the oil so this must be some collection point or shelf inside the block I guess. My engine has been replaced so I guess this bolt has been disturbed since factory . I'm going to RTV these 2 bolts when I reassemble with the new oil pan gasket. I think it may be a possible oil leak source if it is a thru the block bolt hole?

^~~~~ No sir your problem is different then the OP as i hardly see the leak hes talking about as most motors have some oil stains or grime on the motor unless its brand new or a hot tanked block..... And putting rtv on those bolts is not plugging anything as they do not seal anything . that mount just is a stiffener because auto trans are much heavier as manual trans do not have that stiffener. But if u have oil on those bolts most likely your rear main seal is shot...
