Icon2 Honda Accord Info

Alright, so I'll be buying a 97 (or around that year) Honda Accord and I only think it's fair that I widen my knowledge on Honda's engine series such as the H22, which is the only engine I'm really familiar with. But as I said, I want to learn more about Honda. What does "Type-s" and "Type-r" mean? Are there anymore "type-"? And what series engines will fit into the 97' Accord with the least amount of trouble? Also what is the rsx and crx? I'm also confused.. Is it an Acura teg or Honda teg or does it even matter? Every time I'm with a new group of people they say it's Acura. The next guy says it's Honda. HELP. But anyways, I know how engines work, the rotors axles brakes alternator, pretty much the starter stuff. bore x stroke. But I want to know more about Honda's engines and what the phrases mean OBDI and OBD0 mean. That's pretty much it.

I'm not really sure why you're asking all those questions since none of those (save a few) are anywhere near applicable to a '97 Accord.

Type S is just a trim level, same with Type R. Type R though is more race inspired. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Type_R
The CRX is a Honda from the 80's and 90's.

The RSX is an Acura from the mid-late 2000's

OBD0, OBDI, and OBDII reference the engine management level. Everything after '96 is OBDII.

I have a 97 CD5. CD5 being the accord 4dr. Mine has a F22B2 which is the 2.2ltr SOHC non VTEC. In the world of four cylinder engines, it's pretty much a big block (lots of potential but needs help just like a real big block). My CD5 is pretty much bone stock besides the B1 (VTEC head exhaust manifold) exhaust manifold and down pipe.

Eventually she will get the H series intake manifold, a B1 head, harness and ecm swap (mainly because the B1 VTEC head has roller rockers) upgraded fuel injectors, and punch the bottom end out (Stroker kit). All i want from her is to be completely N/A and look nice (interior is toast).

VTEC head. The B1 is the VTEC head. Not the exhaust manifold. Wanted to clear that up. Can't edit posts from my phone. I have tried lots of times. Always freezes up.
