2005 civic dx ac issue
When I drive around town my ac sucks. As long as I'm moving the ac is fine, once I stop it will stay cool but once I take off it gets warm and then takes a minute to cool back down. I have checked the Freon on multiple occasions since the summer of 2007 and it has always been fine. I took my car to the dealership and spent the $180 dollars to get it fixed/looked at whatever but they cannot find a problem and say there is nothing to fix. Please help as I would like my ac to work good this summer in TX.
Is it blowing out very hard? I am not sure what you can do about the temperature, but you may want to check your air filter behind the glove box to ensure that it is not full of debris.
I always thought this was a feature of the car. If you accelerate hard enough, the AC turns off temporarily. It happens to me when I'm getting on the freeway, and if I take off from red lights fast enough. Try accelerating slower and see if it helps.
is your rad fan running when the A/C is on? it sure sounds like it ought to be.
secondly, are there leaves, bugs, or a shopping bag stuck in your grille or the radiator? are you missing the lower shield (the plastic diffuser under the front bumper)?
miediev, yes... it does that when the TPS sensor is over a certain % open. his problem, however, sound more like airflow over the condenser (the radiator lookin thingy).
