Wide-band A/F Oxygen Sensor $300!!!!
So my 95 EG has a VX swap with a VX harness and a p28 ECU (looking for a p07 if you guys know anyone).
Its has a CEL with a 41 as its code, (02 sensor)
It has a brand new 02 sensor in it that the guy put in when bought it. But its a 5 wire. The VX non calif. is a 7 wire wideband A/F, so the ECU cant read it. Ive searched all over for a way to wire this thing into the ECU and cant figure it out at all. A new bosch 7 wire is 300.00 dollars!
Im getting horrible gas mileage from the o2 and the p28....
suggestions??

No, the non-CA VX O2 sensor is 5-wire. But, get yourself a proper ECU. That thing is going to run like crap, and might even be wrecking your O2 sensor if it is running lean/rich.
Have you done the troubleshooting to avoid replacing expensive parts for no reason? Does the O2 sensor heater get battery voltage? Have you measured the heater element resistance?
Also, since it's a swap, are the extra wires for the O2 sensor wired correctly into the cabin?
Even if you did wire it in to the cabin, your P28 ECU isn't going to make use of those extra wires.
If eBay is coming up short for you, try car-part.com.

Ebay has them for $200. Didn't see anything cheaper. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bosch-13246-Oxygen-Sensor-/370654043154?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item564cb3dc12

Look about 4 sensors done from that one.

Thanks for the links to the cheaper 02's
I bought the car with the swap. I was an idiot and seen that the cars exterior and interior was cherry and figured the CEL was from the swap and bought it.
If i can find a p07 cheap ill just eat it and buy the new 02 sensor
but i wouldnt be surprised if the 5 wire wasnt ruined already.
While technically there are 7 pins on the connector, there are only 5 wires that run to the sensor. That's why it's called a "5-wire" sensor. The other two pins connect to some resistor or some such and don't run to the actual sensor in the manifold.
Cool, You are right and I am wrong. Thanks
This may be a dumb question, but if thats the case, is there a way to hard wire this thing since there is a 5 wire o2 already in there?
If I were you, I'd try to save that sensor and put an old 4-wire in there instead until you can get the right ECU. Either that or don't drive it. You're only going to make things worse.
