Icon2 92 Honda Accord, cranks but no fuel

Hey everyone,

We have had this problem multiple times with this car. It is a 92 honda accord.

First time, it was the Main relay, we switched it out, it was fine.

Second time it was the ECM (computer), we switched that out it was fine. We also put in a metal hose to the fuel line (it broke) changed the fuel filter and changed the fuel pump.

third time it was water in the gas, because it was sitting in one place for a couple months. We put water remover and it ran.

Now, fourth time. This happened on thursday, March 14th. It has been running smoothly since the last time it died. Thursday morning it started a little slow (thought it might have been the cold) Then on my way to work it coughed 3ish times, nothing terrible, just a slight engine cough. The wind was blowing hard so I thought it was that. I get to work and leave it for a couple hours, then I try to start it. It has a healthy crank, but it does not start.

We just put it in a garage. I am not getting fuel to the engine, and I am unsure of what the problem could be. Any help would be wonderful, sorry for the size of this, just wanted to give as much info as I could.

you can do a wet test for fuel pressure...turn the ignition on then off...open the big 17mm head bolt on the fuel rail with a rag next to it and see if fuel sprays...if no fuel sprays fuel pump is bad

sounds like your car is like mine...each time I fix something..something else goes out lol

Already tried it, there is no fuel spraying out, and the fuel pump is brand new. We changed it about 6ish months ago.

Haha yea, it doesn't want to give me a break.

This might be a dumb question, can low oil cause the fuel pump to not work? I get the reading that I have low oil.

no. have a buddy turn the ignition while you are under the rear of the car near the gas tank and put a screwdriver to the tank the other end to you're ear. should hear a hummmm if you don't then check main relay under the dash near steering collum,. its held be a 10mm bolt its a lil brown box

Thank you! I have already changed out the relay to see if that was the issue, it was not. But I will try the screwdriver trick.

if you don't hear it. grab a multimeter. rip the back bottom seat out and ground the multimeter the red lead hook it up to the yellow/black wire turn the key to on and check voltage if you don't have voltage it's going to end up being somewhere around the main relay. maybe ignition switch. ill send you a diagram on how to check the main relay harness for power and grounds

Why are you pulling the bottom of the rear seat?

i mean take out the rear bottom seat to access the fuel pump connections. i find it easier to handle and move the wires around

Ok, I just get to the wires from the trunk.....no seat needs to be removed.....then the gens where the pump are changed without the tank being dropped are even better.

Hey everyone, the car works again! No clue why. We have had cold wind the past couple days in Alaska, so that might be the cause, but it works again. Thanks everyone for the info!

Okay guys. Time to hit the bench again. My car wont start again. The temp dropped so I am thinking that might be the issue, but I still DONT KNOW. This car is driving me crazy. Not sure why it won't crank.
