Default Need help finding out which specific B series this came off of!!

I bought this head for my boyfriend. I was told it was a B17. Can anyone please help me to figure out what kind of B series head this is. It would be greatly appreciated as we are building this engine together and this is key information for ordering future parts.

Thanks,
Brianna

no it's not. b17's still used pr3 heads.

it's a 94-01 gsr head. regardless, all internals are interchangeable between the various b series vtec heads.

Sorry but looking at the manufacturing date this looks to be for a 94 model (22/1/1993), and I also think p72 is the code for 94-01 b18c1 gsr head where as pr3 would be for 92-93 b17 gsr (same or very similar as b16 heads).

edit doood beat me to it.

^^ This is correct.

The date actually says 93/7 or July 1993.

This is a 1994 model DC2 GSR head since all engine mid-year casting dates are for the next model year vehicle.

IMO the best "designed" B-series head from Honda.

P72 is Gsr. Very clean very nice job in picking out a really clean head cylinder.

What do you think this head is worth? It has been resurfaced, has had a 5 angle valve job, new springs, retainers, valves, valve guide seals, and stage 2 toda cams. I was wondering if I got a good deal on this.

if thats all true, which i highly doubt you got stage 2 toda cams as they are marked by A,B, or C. Then probably anywhere from 450-600 in good condition.

Around here a good condition stock p72 head is worth around 300-400$. To me, with all the work done on it plus toda cams (assuming they are B), I would pay around 800$.
