Exedy is/was Honda's OEM supplier for most of their clutches, they make great stuff and you can find them on ebay for the price all day. Just pay close attention, some stores will say exedy presssure plate with another brand of disc in the fine print, check carefully and make sure both are exedy.

Be careful of going too light if you live in mountains/drive up big hills

an aftermarket flywheel on a stock d series is a waste, for much cheaper you can have your oem one machined/lightened.

I wad looking at a 10lb flywheel. So should I get the exedy stage 1 for 250$ or pay the extra buck for a ACT for 350$?

Stick with the exedy. There is no need to put a high end clutch on a 100hp car, lol.

The exedy OEM should be more than enough. Anything else is overkill.

Why does this matter? I live in the mountains and any highway driving consists of going up hill. And have a very light flywheel. Nothing happens.

he was refering to the RPM drop between shifts if your shifts are slow it would affect it. ive drove in hilly terrain with a lighten flywheel no problem as well....

I just got a stage 3 Yonaka 6 puck clutch and so far so good..... i dont know what your plns are. if u plan to stay stock im sure u dont need a stage 3 and thats all yonaka makes... the yonaka clutch has a WAY stiffer pressure plate then the xtd stage 3.... XTD is ok but i had alot of clutch slip when it was new and i notice this yonaka clutch doesnt slip at all even when new. i dont recomend XTD they may be decent for a stock clutch only.

this is a stock 100hp motor that can barely get out of its own way.... any clutch will be fine... even if u went to your local parts store and bought a clutch you will be fine. if you were boosting the car or any other F/I then i would shop for a specific clutch for your goals.

Agree with Ryan It's just a Y7 why do you need a lightweight flywheel. or did you put a VTEC head on it ? even then just get a standred OE replacement save save some money.

All that I've read about flywheels(also looking into this upgrade w/in next year) suggests that any lighter than 14lbs is impractical for dd. Just trying to help- I've noticed a lot of people mentioning that initially leaving from a stop requires additional feathering to avoid stall on 10lb, in addition to feathering required for upgraded clutch. Revs will raise And drop faster as mentioned by apexi_rsx

I wouldnt say so exactly, although 7 1/2 pounds is stupidly light mines held up for 2 years and it revs out a little quicker then my buddys 12 pounder

Ok, to each his own. I'll be going with 12-14lb. I'm sure there's truckloads of opinions on flywheel weight, just a suggestion guys.

Thanks for yalls posts. I see now that any other clutch is overkill on my d16. Ya its not boosted or anything this is my first time pickin a cluctch but now I get the jist of it when picking. Im gona get a exedy kit that comes with tha exedy flywheel for 290$. Does that sound about right?
