Honda Civic 1.7 Diesel 2003 UK
Could somebody please send me a video link or step by step instruction ( idiots guide) how to replace a fuel guage light on dashboard. there are many on various forums abut they are about ore 2003 Honda and not relevant to my car. the best intructions I found on internet below says "Use a screwdriver to remove the two retaining screws which hold the cowl trim in place". But i cant see any screws on the trim on my car .
Please help me. I have serious problem when driving at night on motorwar with partially dark dash board. Please copy your mail to devsiri@hotmail.com
Somebody say this would be 5 mins job and my UK Honda dealer wants £135 for it

Things you need
• Phillips-head screwdriver
• Replacement dash light

Pop the bonnet of the Honda Civic. Locate the battery and use pliers to lift the positive and negative terminals from the battery.
2. 2
Lower the steering wheel to its lowest possible position in the steering column to give you easy access to the instrument cluster.

Use a screwdriver to remove the two retaining screws which hold the cowl trim in place. Pull the trim from around the instrument panel and remove it from the vehicle .

Remove the three screws which hold the instrument panel to the dashboard. Slide your hand round the back of the panel and unhook the electrical connector from the rear.
5. 5
Unscrew the damaged bulbs from the instrument panel and throw them in the trash. Screw the new bulbs in to the dash in a clockwise direction. Turn it until it can no longer be turned to ensure it is fixed in place.
6. 6
Reattach the cowl trim and instrument panel to the dashboard following the removal steps in reverse. Attach the battery terminals and turn on the engine to check that the instrument panel in now working correctly.

Hello Everybody. Thanks for all your ideas. My UK Honda dealer wanted £55 to change the bulb. My problem was that there was no two visible screws on the trim as the instructions I copied and pasted from internet above say. Then I realised the writer was talking about different Honda Civi an older version .
I pulled the trim on the dashboard covering the gauges a few times and it came off (Two clips were holding it ). After that I took off the three screws and panel came off easily . I changed the bulb. The whole thing took only three minutes. it was the easiest job.
I cannot believe Honda justifying a charge of £55 but I guess they have to make a living by scaring the unsuspecting customers in to thinking it is a time consuming job
