Fiberglass JDM front-end?
i've heard of people driving with fiberglass front ends and at high speeds on the freeway and they start flapping from the wind, looking like it's going to blow off
. Definitely not a good choice ryan. I know how bad you want one, but you have to hold out for the oem metal, it's the only way to go.

it will be worth it, trust me.
I'll just have to buy all the pieces seperately for the best prices. I'm to impatient to save up enough to buy it all at once haha.[Modified by autonomous R, 11:45 PM 10/21/2002]
really? hey ... hookup the link and im good to go! Coming up w/ that cash shouldn't be too difficult. I thought even the non-HID kits were like $3000?
just wondering...could you do certain parts fibreglass(ie hood, and then get a carbon fibre when you have money) and certain parts oem (the important stuff like fenders)?
fastbutcurious here on HT had some good prices on OEM conversions. He has 1 HID left for like 3k. in the post he didnt mention if its used or new. you should IM him.
yeah fiberglass is crap. if you dont mind getting the front bumper repainted and fixing all of the cracks every year then its not to bad. i have one, got in a little accident so went with the fiberglass its all i could afford. go oem dont waste time on the fiberglass.
I bet most of you have never even saw a fiberglass nose a R. This local guy Justin, has the complete nose on his car and if you walk up to his car without knowing you would never be able to tell. and as for "flapping" in the wind???
I think your flapping alittle to much. I was next to his car in the top of 4th and that car seemed completely fine to me.
Facts people not guessing or "IMHO".
EDIT: here is a pic:

Car looks nice, but over time, the fiberglass around the screw wears, and the pieces stop fitting well. It happens. Go metal, its worth the money.

I have seen deals where you can purchase the fiberglass kit but substitute parts off it. You substitute in metal fenders, CF hood, and aftermarket front bumper (ie CWest or Mugen) and it comes out a few hundred less than buying the all metal kit. I would do that if i were you. But not all fiberglass, that shiet sucks.
