I have recently seen a lot of comments about flat tires, expired tags, and how people haven't taken their ITRs out of the garage for over a year.

So what is the longest you've gone without driving your ITR?

I didn't want to bump 10 year old threads but I included them in case you guys cared to look at what they had to say.

 

Prior to November of last year, my ITR had 30 miles put on it in 4.5 years. Now it's my daily..75 miles per day

Going on 4 months now, its the first winter Ive had heR

 

October 10, 2011.

One year, five months, and two days.

 

August 2010. The R is currently stripped and sitting 4 batteries Using it as a storage rack at the moment.

 

Possibly 24 hours? It's my daily...put 8000 miles on it in the first two months of ownership.

 

I miss my days in SC...

I bought the car as a shell in July 2007, drove it for the first time July 2009, so that's the longest. Though I only "drove" it onto a trailer and hauled the car 7hrs to Charlotte for Jack to tune it. I didn't take the car for its first real drives around town until August and my first track event in the car was November 2009.

With my move to SF my car sits quite a bit. The car sat from April until ITR Expo, then from August to January when I flew in for the guns meet and drove the car to VegaS10 in Raleigh.

 

Mine was used as a daily from Jan until May 2012 but thankfully I live so close to work that less than 10 miles were put on a daily basis. Since May it has been sitting because I'm currently working two jobs, got a new daily driver so the R went back to its weekend/sunny day/toy status. I also have a lot of family issues going on at this time so I think the R will stay like that for a couple more months.

Longest for was almost 2 years. But now once a week.

 

I last drove my Type R in 2002. 11 years.

 

I bought my itr in Jan 2012 and have only driven less than 100 miles since.

I'm driving it in the country to keep everything fresh and to test everything out.

She's doing just fine.

 

I'm sorry but whats the point in owning a caR if its never driven, even more so if its not driven like it was designed to?

 

Nice ones are worth good money now and due to theft issues, some folks choose to drive them very little. And they don't make good daily drivers (they never really did to be honest).

What does it matter, anyhow?

 

Todd nailed the high points but... define "designed to". Was it designed as a street car or race car? Are the folks DD'ing them not driving them right or is it the folks taking them to the track?

Christian, DD'ing his and has gone through 2.5 tanks of gas since October 2012.

 

Mine has sat for abou 6 months now. I have a nice daily to drive and I get it out about 3-4 times a year for track days.

 

Mine was daily driven for 9 years and has 155K on the odometer until a year ago. Now she sleeps in the garage, longest I've gone without driving has been 2 months.

May of 06 for me. Don't ask me why, it's a long sad story. But at least I still have her.

 

It doesn't bother me that ppl don't drive theirs, but I enjoy driving them so I never went more then a few months during the winter.

 

Bought it in 2011 put 500km on it and its been sleeping in the garage since.
This summer she will be driven daily.

 

Last time was January 2008.

Life and career got in the way.... sigh.
