Default 91 HATCH Traction bar thread

Looking for some good pics of cars with a install of the front traction bar.

Can be any name/brand

Full race
Innovative
Cheap Ebay ****
What ever anyone has.

The thing I am trying to find out is I looked over a pic of a car with a full race T bar installed and It looks like its required to hack out some of the existing front member? The part which spans the lower portion of radiator...

What needs to be done? I ordered a Traction bar. I dont have it yet to play mock up but I just want some direction.

It looks easy as cake to install. I already prepped my car for the quick hassle free install. Its just as I saved some pics early on to get idea for my car I see **** removed from other car and I am not sure if I need to cut **** out.

Anyone Thanks-

Ok well Here is 1 pic I am using a reference.

Note the area at the bottom where you can see "full race" the member which spans across is removed.

My dad has the innovative traction bar and I think he might have had to trim down the lower rad mounts but definitely not cut them off nor the lower part at all

I have the Innovative traction bar and it bolts directly on. When you take the front subframe off it takes the place of that exactly, no cutting or anything even uses the same bolts. It's an easy install.

Thanks guys- exactly what I was looking for. Some re-assurance about the part.

I did pick up a innovative T bar the better one.

I picked up a half rad, and a innovative rad mount kit.

Good to know- Will have it done by weekend possible pics as well

Blu civic. I am using a half rad- hope it works. Looks tight in there.

I have the universal innovative mounts. for the half rad. Looks like space is minimal. Even with my 4.1 header... its going to be tight

I hope it works

i wouldn't worry about it. if i can fit all of this in there with a dual core radiator, you should be alright

Got the package, And didnt get a chance to install. Layed everything out and I am missing 1 wASHER to the hardware/fasten. Going to look around.

Here is my lay-out

Also anyone know which way the Radiator mounts go- up or down. trying to figure it out with no instructions, they are the brackets with the "ear" on them.. in the middle where the rad would lay, I am not sure if they go up, or down. Thanks

Good news, Will be getting positive traction from here on out.

Installed everything. Quick simple process. Too bad I did not get to ride the car due to battery short out. Like its dead and wont take a charge. I have a jump pack and get it going but lights, heat, etc shut it down. tach it up in the RPM range and it cuts out and dies. Needs a new PC680- I should have known to take it out and disconnect it.

Took some pics today. Looking good. Thinking of a new paint job. Would be nice. About to start sanding.

when you get an alignment, make sure they adjust your caster, mine is off on one side

Any Advice on any thing I should buy suspension wise? Like caster plates or camber? Just wondering. Havent even driven the car yet or taken for a spin since all the mods. Pics are showing me trying to burp the system with rad cap off trying to get the car up to temp so I know it has plenty of coolant. I also wanted to monitor the slim fan kick on and work. Just to verify it is wired correct and functions. Never kicked on. The fluidyne must do a good job. I am worried about the plastic fan and the close pipe. It could cook the fan or melt it and cause some type of fire.

I will look into the front end alignmet work and have it all done the right way. I have a bent rim and need that fixed, not sure if it can be done.

My engine is a B16a Integra XSi engine. It is not the B16 with 160HP it is revised from honda and has wild-er cam shafts which bump the power out to 170 from factory.

That is besides the point I have a TON of other mods into the car.

The cam shafts you can now hear alot better in the exhaust. Sounds pretty good. I believe the Header brought the sound out. Should bring out some power too-

if you're worried about the fan, find the heat shield for that header. no need for camber kits unless you're trying to add camber and our cars don't use caster plates

BLU- I am slightly worried. I did do numerious heat checks and it seems OK. I ran my car for a good while today. Notice I had a small problem up at the front head light. Smell plastic melting and sure enough it is my headlight H4 harnesses from PWJDM. I upgraded them along time ago and all the sudden its heating up and melting. BLACK wire. I tested and there is 15V up there. Not sure if its thats right. harness and connector are shot. So it would be nice to find out what the problem is.

About the header, I might get it sand blasted and ceramic coated and sterling silver flakes added. I had all my syclone inner-cooler pipes coated to reduce temps. I think doing the header would be nice because it stays silver/shiny looking and will keep temps down. JET HOT COATING. great stuff. The header was used- and had the heat wrap on it and scaled the **** out of the header. Oils, coolants, fluids got on the fabric and inhibited on the header causing the rust and scale. Really its no big deal. I can leave it or keep spending money. I am really starting to think about a new paint job on the car.

i set my fans up as pushers to creat more room. if you're not wanting to do that, make some sort of heat shield between the header and fan, then put some reflect-a-gold on the side facing the header

15 volts is to much but if the ground is getting hot then there might be a ground in the car that is not making good connection
