Alright I'm on my second map sensor after the first one gave out. So I bought a used one off eBay since a New one is $80, and that's a lot for one sensor. Well now here I am again with code 3 and it runs kinda shitty. Also on occasion, the sensor next to the map sensor on the intake manifold pops out. I have hard reset the ecu a couple time, and no luck. The problem started when I wrapped the wires in electrical tape to clean the wires up. Any reason why they keep going bad or stop working?

 

Anyone? I noticed today that one of the casings on of the wires had melted a bit and now some plastic seems to be in the wire. Could this cause my problem?

 

If the problem started after you messed with the wires, have u ever thought to look at the wiring? Also, did you mess with wiring before or after replacing the original sensor?

Well I looked at the wires and saw that one of the casings had melted so the wire would touck the tb and short. I repaired it, and it ran fine, but now just this morning, it threw a code 3, so I will go look, but I can't imagine that the wire casing has melted again.

 

Ok I fixed and it was happy, but now its having issues again, and I don't see a melted casing? Anyone??
