Removing my resonators...Percs and Cons?
I dont have the money right now to buy a bolt on cat back exhaust kit. I have heard, not that there is any truth to this, that if I remove my rear resonator that it could possibly help with my gas mileage while leaving the front one in place. I don't know if it will or not but I have noticed that on the Greddy kits as well as Invidia that they only run one resonator. I know that on a N/A engine that they rely on back pressure to work properly and efficiently, whilst on a turbo engine they are more efficient with no resistance on the exhaust. So my question is if I remove a resonator whether it be the front, the rear, or both and leave the muffler in place...what can I expect as far as HP and Gas Mileage increase/decrease? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. In case no one notices my registered garage car on here I drive a 2011 Honda Civic Si completely stock.
