What did I get myself into? 2005 Si HFP
Just picked this up yesterday. Was looking for a while and spent last summer messing around with a CRX HF that I sold over the winter. Someone bought my other project car which made the funds available for this.
Car needs some TLC and it was adult owned. The car lived in Philly so there are a numbers of little scrapes and minor dents that need to be addressed, hopefully using a paintless method. Somehow the wheels have no rash. It has some sort of CAI but I may try and find a stock airbox. Other than that it is bone stock.

regret ever selling my ep3 lol, i personally dont like the tail lights or head lights on the 04-05 (can swap with 02-03 with simple modifications) but do like the 5-lug and they fixed the cam galling. and they are super comfortable. How many miles are on it?
I think right around 71k.
I read some the FAQs listed above. Some are decent, some could use some work.
What does it take to make another 40-50 HP? I suppose the easiest way would be to get the RSX Type-S motor and swap it. Not doing a swap. Can you make another 40 hp with the stock motor and not spend a ton of money? I am a Honda noob so be gentle.

Dude nothing is cheap any more. 40-50hp gains hmmmm... Well your going to need a Kpro first off. If you cant afford a swap maybe then a head swap or a rocker arm swap with some rsx type s cams. Then a good header and exhaust along with a cold air intake. Your not gonna make a whole lot of power with the k20a3 unless its turbo'd or superchargered. Your best bet is to do the k20a2 swap or just turbo your k20a3. But either way you still have to have a kpro. Good luck! Oh yea and for the FAQ what do you have question on?
I was reading all of the FAQs just to familiarize myself with as much info as possible. So what does an entry level turbo setup cost? What does it get you HP wise? Time to go and read the turbo section.

Turbo kits will range on price depending on what parts you buy. For instance ebay junk is cheaper then a full race turbo kit. I spent roughly $5000. I built my own kit purchasing piece by piece. I bought mostly name brand parts as well. It would be cheaper for you to do a motor swap if your only looking for 40-50 hp gains. Turbocharging is not for beginners. You could easily waste lots of money and brake stuff if its not tuned right. It takes lots of research to learn how everything works.
ephatch.com all you need to know. i own an ep3, a3=trash. but theres a lot i mean a lot of cool stuff you can do with this. cive car by the way.
I read a bunch of turbo threads. Seems like the minority think the stock A3 can handle 225-250 with a good tune. The rest seem to think its a ticking time bomb.
What does a Hondata get you on a stock motor? Anything? After a CAI are there any other bolt-on mods worth doing.
I love the car so far. Drives great, car seems pretty tight. I think I need to reconnect some of the HFP panels, esp the spoiler.
