Aftermarket front end?
Hey H-T,
So Tuesday I'm going to the bay area to pick up an entire front end for $250. I found the guy on Craigslist. He says the parts have a 25 day warranty, fit better than ebay parts, and that he supplies auto body shops. His business is mobile so he doesn't have an actual shop.
I plan on buying the fenders, hood, and bumper cover. I'll get jdm headlamps and amber/smoked amber from password jdm or jdm ****.
Is this a sound idea? Is it a good deal? I'm a little skeptical because I know that aftermarket doesn't always fit perfect but I'm going to take it to a body shop to have it all lined up. Let me know what you guys think.

See, that's how I kind of saw it when. He told me he didn't have a shop. "out of the van". When I called him to buy the front end he said he had to call in and order it. Like he only carries stock by order.
How bad do these aftermarket parts get really? Bad enough to the point where a reputable shop couldn't line it up? All I care about is if a shop can make it work.

Funny you mentioned ebay, he told me iirc that these parts fit really well "not like the ones you get on ebay". I guess the only way to find out is by buying the parts. I'll take pics of them when I get them on Tuesday. Then more pics when I get a shop to put it all together. Although that might be awhile as I have to save for that.

Aftermarket parts fit terribly. I have a certa fit hood/bumper, core support. Nothing lines up correctly, and everything had to be modified to line up decently.
You are better off buying used OEM parts.
