Does side A or B face up? Does it matter?

Damn I hope it don't matter I just put my head back on last night and didn't even think of that at all....

 

It should fit better one way then the other
But from the look of it I would say A

 

If you look again you'll notice that there are holes in one end that aren't on the other, it really should only line up properly one way. Also, the second hole from the left on the bottom edge of side A is oval in shape, the corresponding hole on the other end is round.

On your pics, side A is the top. Although it will fit either way, that is the way it is supposed to go. You see that little notch sticking out on the left side near the bottom on sida A? that notch goes on the top right of the block if you are looking at it from the front. You can see it better on side b on bottom right head bolt hole.
