So I just bought a 95 Civic DX for 2600 it has a D15z1 swap in it I am going to keep for the mileage, Body is flawless, stock red. Interior is a SI swap with GSR front seats. It has 16" Motegi's rt5's wrapped in Toyo's on it that I cant wait to trade or sell.

But the after doing a once over on the motor i noticed a few things. The heater hose was hidden well, and to my surprise it is a garden hose that was zip tied...

the wire tuck that looked great at first after inspection was done horrible and the connections were put together with hot glue.. Its throwing a CEL but its from the O2, because of it running of a P28 when it needs a P07

Took the Valve cover off to find 2 out of 5 bolts were broken off, the rest come out but the aluminum is stripped. A Cam bolt is broken off and looks to be jb welded in.

the oil pan gasket needs replaced, im scared to take it off though to see what might be in it. haha

But the body and interior are still 9/10, ill try to get it up to speed ill update with pics when my noob status wears off.

 

You can add pictures when in trial membership. Just hit the icon that looks like mountains and a moon. The site only limits the picture size i believe. Im still in trial and have posted plenty of pictures. Good luck with the engine problems though. And get that hose replaced for sure.

 

2.6K and all that is wrong you got ripped off hard im sorry. hope the engine wasn't filled with some heavy weight oil to hide any knocking(or related issues). did you look before you bought ? i hope you talked him down on the price at the very least.

OK figured out the picture stuff.

But yeah i looked it over, it had some perks, motor swap had legit paperwork. body is fresh and interior too. Wheels and tires are new. But its mine now so ill have to deal with it.
But what it comes down to, the Guy bought it for his son who was 15. And i think while dad was away... lil billy was in the garage taking the valve cover off playing mechanic.
that doesn't explain the garden hose though,haha

Ill post pics of the engine soon, im going to put the oil pan gasket on Monday with the new hoses.

At least the body is nice, rims look big on it however i'd get some 15'' or 16'' tho. and give it a 2'' drop.

 

agreed, id like some stock 15's.. Hopefully I can get a trade on Craigslist this week. The drop is the next thing to happen after i get the motor sorted out.
