is there a area of this community for help concerning a 86 crx hf?

Hey guys my name is darin. I'm having some trouble with my rex. For starters it will crank but only run for a second. If I hit the gas pedal it dies instantly.I removed the filter box from the top of the carb,then proceeded to check the inline filter next to the carb.it seemed old so I removed it and ran a fuel line [no filter) straight to the carb.it seemed to crank with less effort.so I replaced both filters,the lines and pump. Problem still persisted....I noticed a screw on top of the carb, kindly turned it and the car ideled out perfect on its own..I let it run about 20 min to get her flowing good, when itt cooled down iput it backtogether now its back to cranking for a sec an dien.I'm new to carb hondas.any info would help a lot.thanx guys

 

Ignition switches in old Hondas are known to fail. Try replacing the ignition switch.

 

It cranks up..if it was the ignition switch would it not crank at all? I'm thinking it may be carb related..any sugestions?
