Default 1985 Civic S1500 (B16 swap in progress)

Back in 1996 I fell in love with my first car... a 1985 Honda civic S1500. I was 16, young and dumb and knew nothing about cars. I always wished it was faster but I loved it none the less. I ended up blowing up the engine being stupid and got rid of it... but the love for that body style would go on in my memory.

16 years later... I'm a advid car lover and have owned about 30+ since that day, but could never shake that first love. So playing around one night on craigslist I found it! Same car, just a different color pretty much in mint condition. I hopped on a plane, traveled 3 states away and drove the car home.

It needed work but I was able. Rebuilt the carb, tuneup and shock. But still lacked that power... infact I had forgotten just how SLOW this damn car was. My toy car is a 2005 C6 Corvette and my old daily was a modded 99 Contour SVT, so I had to make this car more my style.

I found on craigslist a local owner with a EF that already had a b16 swap and only wanted 1K for it! Hell I thought to myself i can't get the engine and tranny for that! The car did need some work, vtec didn't work, the exhaust manifold was cracked and presilencer broken, VSS didn't work, check engine light kept coming on. Well after a day of looking, fixing and welding I had fixed all problems and the car ran like a top and is my current daily till i get ready to pull the engine.

I got the engine pulled and started cleaning the bay and installing the mounts

I decided to use Hasport mounts and decided to go with a full standalone computer in case I ever desired to add a turbo. I'm using a Haltech E8. So currently i'm just waiting to get the Haltech installed and custom wiring loom for it finished in the donor so I can swap it over to the 85.

Other things i still have to figure out is how i'm going to do the fuel delivery, but thats another days journey!

Very nice, good cars, more fun with a B under the hood. Are you gonna try and keep the AC?? Not sure how the wiring is, but if you get an engine harness that connects directly to the ECU that hole where the AC goes through the firewall is perfect.

It can be done, just need a custom AC mount. There was a CRX with a B16A that had AC and a turbo in NC, but that car in is NY now.

so, been thinking. Since I'm using a standalone computer I think i'm going to do a wire tuck and maybe shave the bay.
