Hello guys, I just got my first honda and I wanna to do an engine swap but im not sure whice engine i should pick between the h22 or f20b? and for the tranny should I just use a H or F tranny or should I go h2b? which set up would make the swap engine easier since i have no expirence with that? my plan is to do a engine swap and 6 months later a turbo blowing 15psi. Thanks for your time guys

Well I am fairly new to Honda tech, but I have been working on Hondas for a few years now. As a personal opinion, my first car was a 1991 Honda civic sedan, and I wanted to swap the engine and I was a newbie to swaps to, so I decided on a h22 and to tell you the truth it was quite complicated. as to getting it in the car hasport sells mount kits for them so that's fairly easy, basic knowledge and some tools.. on another note wiring was a pain in the butt, 91 civic is od0 h22 isn't. so I completely trashed my stock wiring and the car never ran and I sold it as a unfinished project. but with the support out there now a days, hasport sells the mounts, the axles for the swap and rywire sells a jumper harness for the wiring. So in my PERSONAL opinion, the h22 has a lil more displacement but hood clearance issues, and f series has potential. both a good option. sorry if this wasn't any help.

I have never done an h2b tranny swap, and parts wise the price is about the same, and you can always find good deals, just takes a lil searching... and I would say for the kind of money and time its gonna take to do a h22 swap with an h2b adapter for the tranny, I would swap in a k20... but that's personal opinion

thanks for the advice but today i got a F20B blue top and all the other part I need to do the swap. My next question is, does anyone know if is worth to buy a turbo kit of ebay just to start? if the turbo blows up i will get a good brand turbo.

I will upload pics of the car and part next week. This is my first honda ever but i can not wait to get this party going

If you're willing to get a better turbo later why wait on getting a good one?
