My Gsr has developed this rattle that presents itself around 7600, and then gets progressively noisier as I approach redline. It seems like it could be cat rattle from the heat shields, but maybe the shifter?

yes same problem always wonder what it is.

 

i got that too, it seems to dissapear when i hold the shifter in gear more. I think it's probably in the shift linkage, just a loose something or the other. Do both of you have the mount inserts? I do and figured thats what was causing it.

 

I do not have motor mount inserts.
However I have ES shifter bushings

 

Es bushings rattle my shifter too. im use to it. prothane motor uppers here I come

 

no, i haven't touched my shifter or the bushings...do you think that could be causing the problem? where are you getting the prothane bushings from?
