They did.
OP the ARC piece performance wise loses power and is for looks only. Unfortunately, it's a dying piece from a dead brand. The J's or Password JDM intake is a much better style and is better performance wise

I got a K&N and love it. Might check out the J's setup though to switch it up.

Tough to beat the stock intake (performance wise), if you want more noise, block the resonator port in the bottom right corner of the stock box under the filter and take the lid off the oem box.

If you want bling that still perform well, Passwordjdm/J's/Mugen are the way to go.

taking the lid off the oem box is what ricers do and you lose power.

Exactly. I am more than fine with losing the 3-5 hp for the sound of the car with the top off!

Plus I think someone did some testing and while moving the difference in IAT's was negligible.

When city driving it's on, when in the hills on a good drive, the top down and top of the box off is heaven.

Not often I fall for it...but does the 3hp loss make a difference? hmm, not really, I read his statement as "good for a loss in 5hp".

actually, its more like a loss of 13whp...and yes you will feel that difference...and regardless, why would anyone do something that purposely loses horsepower? sorry, but that IS retarded

Maybe its not all about performance for him. He likes it louder even at the cost of 13hp.

Stop being a complete Douche bag and talking **** and let him do his thing.

so do you just go around trying to start **** with all members? quite frankly, its getting old and redundant...and as far as being a douche bag, im sure the concensus is that youre one of the biggest **** talking douches on this forum...you never add anything constructive and all you do is act like a total *******...and im sure if you asked anyone, puposely doing something to make your car lose that amount of horsepower for no reason in a car that is already underpowered, is stupid...point blank...so like blanco said in the other thread you were talking **** in, **** off

Quite easy actually, because it sounds better.

So you're saying, if I am driving along at say 45mph, I am losing 13whp by having the top of the intake box off? I don't have a travelling dyno strapped to my **** like you do, but I beg to differ on that assumption

I do believe you insitgated it, to which you could say I did by stating something retarded, and all of a sudden we're on a name calling merry go round.

Does it lose power, yes, we are all quite aware of that. Do I leave it off all the time? No, only on drives when I like to hear it, ie. a blast in the hills. If I lose 5hp, OMG I haz no power in my racecar. Christ, it's 5 hp in an economy sports car!

Stock intake is the way to go. I just put a K&N filter in.

I've come to the conclusion that the s2000 was very well done from the factory and if you're staying all motor there really isn't a point in doing the "standard mods" you would do on another car. To get real benefits in an all motor application you need to spend quite a bit of money to get some noticeable gains, hence why many people turbo/supercharge them.

I really think someone missed diagnosing you as a idiot as a child. All you do is talk **** about everyones car and their mods unless its something YOU have done, or willing to do to your own. Stop belittling everyone ideas and just STFU about what YOU think is the right thing to do. He even said that he liked the SOUND more then the performance loss and you STILL were talking ****. Just STFU already and go change your Tampon, it's bloody.

Do me a favor, go take a look at your K&N system and compare it to the factory intake with the lid off.....

The point I was making in my previous post was that there really isn't a better performing aftermarket intake for the S2000 and thus replacing it seems pointless. The only reason you'd replace it, is because you want something that's louder, if this is the case, simply removing the stock lid and blocking the resonator would achieve the exact same result.

And the guy with the clown as his picture needs to find another place/way to boost his ego.

Looks like someone localy is selling one for $900..
http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/pts/3591997243.html

As for people taking the air box lid off for a little more sound, I understand. I did it to when I first got my S. Then I later started noticing major heatsoak (yes, the HP loss is DEFINITELY noticable. Equal or sometimes if it's hot enough, more than the power loss you feel when the AC is on) so I decided to put it back on and problem solved. So please people, put that lid back on! It was designed for a reason! Not just to quiet things up. If you wand more noise, do the UK exhaust mod.
