Default Balance shaft help please?!?

Ok here’s the skinny.. I did the timing belt and got those marks lined up, what I didn’t line up was the balance shaft marks. I had the rear balance shaft mark pointing in the middle of what looks like 2 notches shaped like a V and on the front one, I had the mark that should point at the front of the car pointing up top whoops…
Well the car would start and run crappy and also stall if I revved the gas. Blackened my plugs and stuff too. Well I went back in and did everything by the book. Checked timing marks and they are good! Turned my balance shafts to line up correctly, locked the rear in place with an allen wrench through the access hole in the block, put the belt on and the car won’t even start now. I’ve torn it apart and put it back together 3 times now just to check the timing marks and balance shaft marks and it all still jives. Is it possible that with the initial assmebly I threw something out of wack and need to take something else apart in order to totally reset the balance shafts?
This is my only mode of transportation right now so any help would be greatly appreciated and if you live in Dallas I’ll buy you a 6 or help support whatever bad habit you have lol!

balance shafts are unrelated to your running issues. if vibration were your only issue then maybe...

any trouble codes- Check Engine Light?

ignition timing is right, good spark?

Do what i did. Take the ******* belt off the balance shafts and run without them. I didn't even feel a difference w/o them other than a little more power.

If your car ran right before you messed with the timing chances are its (almost a guaranteed 100%) that the timing is off a tooth.

Ok, I'll take it apart tonight and check the timing and touch base tomorrow with the scoop.

It's gotta be your valve timing.

Sound like timing is off. After you took the belt off did you move the marks at all? Why did you change the belt, did it break? or did you do it because it was old.
If it broke and you moved the car or tried to crank the engine it has bent valves, if you moved the timing marks chances are you set the timing wrong and now have bent valves. These Honda engine are great engines but easy to mess them up.
